Although Grassalkovich Castle in Gödöllő, as one of the largest Baroque palaces in the whole Europe, was built due to its luxurious lifestyle and the name of Antal Grassalkovich. It is a generally accepted fact that for all Hungarians the castle in Gödöllő was actually associated with Queen Elizabeth (Sissi).

ROYAL SISSY TOUR IN GÖDÖLLŐ

The luxurious castle, built in the 1730s, was even visited by Maria Theresa, and after the last male member of the Grassalkovich family, this beautiful building had hard fate for decades. József Ferenc and Queen Elizabeth were given a wedding present as follows the second golden age came, as the royal couple spent a lot of time among the "Hungarians of Sissi" using the building as a summer residence.

This impressive building served as a warehouse and headquarters during the 20th Century War and period, and has survived that time and, thanks to its wondrous renovations, it is waiting for visitors once again in its full splendor, trying to represent the luxurious world of the monarchy.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

We will pick up our passengers at the given accommodation at the start of the tour and take them on our air-conditioned buses to the beautiful town of Gödöllő.

In Gödöllő, visitors will have free access to some parts of the castle, having the chance to take an adventurous stroll through the arboretum area, all of which will help you experience the Baroque atmosphere as quick as thought.
Numerous fixed and periodical exhibitions await visitors, which are also open to our guests.

Visit the abundant, lifelike décor of the rich history of the Grassalkovich period or the exhibition of paintings and clothes in memory of our Queen Sissi, and do not forget the breathtakingly beautiful park where you can take a pleasant stroll.
The tour ends at Hotel InterContinental, where guests can enjoy a pleasant downtown walk-in proper time, as the district of Buda Castle, the Danube Promenade or Váci street are not really far from Széchenyi Chain Bridge.
