ARC giant poster art exhibition

When: 8 September until 8 October 2023
Entrance: Free

The ARC is the most visited free public exhibition in Hungary. Since 2000, it’s been about the freedom of creativity. Artists can express themselves about their view on current, ongoing global-or local political issues. Anyone can apply without limits, and the exhibition is open, available day and night. For 22 years now, the ARC expo has been considered as a thought-provoking and opinion-shaping visual-cultural event. It’s already a traditional part of Budapest’s cultural offering, and its significance goes way beyond, being just an exhibition.
The art pieces are presented in poster formats on huge billboards, often placed near open parky areas. The exhibition always features though-provoking arts filled to the brim with actual issues and world-wide problems.
The theme of the exhibition changes annually and is centred around one major question, or statement, this year’s topic and title is: What are you preparing for?
The sizzling side-effects of global warming? Preparing for slavery after the A.I. takes over control of humanity? Browsing brochures on space travel, packing your stylish branded space suit? A future without education? Perhaps the perspective of a thermo-nuclear war? The ARC exhibition will hopefully give you plenty to think about.
